Accounting type software

I am looking for some accounting type software. I have downloaded Gnucash but cannot get it running. I have also downloaded Fink, Fink commander and also xcode but still i cannot work out how to get it installed

It could be me missing something

Does anyone know of an easy to install piece of software to do some basic accounting?

Are you meaning something like home accounting software or something that's used to balance professional books?

If the former, maybe Quicken or QuickBooks?

My other half is a treasurer for a sighthound rescue so i was looking for something for her to use. Mainly as i have no idea what to use my G5 for and that keeps it inside the house

I really think it depends on what you plan on doing accounting wise.

Gnucash is good program and I use it on a G4 Cube & iMac G4, so it'll work. What problems were you seeing with it?

I cannot get it to open at all...... probably more me than the program.

Downloaded it and extracted it to Apps folder but that is it.
