I am looking for a monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440 and I came across the Acer K272HUL, whic has decent reviews given the price. My question is, how do I get the Mac Mini to display at the full 2560x1440 resolution. Will a Mini Displayport to Displayport adaptor work?

If anyone is also using a 2560x1440 monitor, please share your thoughts.

2012 mini and WQHD monitor here. Working fine via mDP-to-DP cable. Running 2nd monitor (FullHD) via HDMI without problems.

in order to output at full resolution for a WQHD, do we have to use a mDP-DP cable? Would mDVI-DVI work?

The port is mDP (TB-embedded), so a mDVI cable / adaptor probably won't work. However you can get adaptors from mDP to DVI. Just make sure you are using a fully connected (i.e. Dual-Link) DVI cable.
