Activate before using iJailbreak?

Do I have to activate the iPhone before I can use iJailbreak to unlock and jailbreak it?

No. iJailBreak will do everything for you, including activation, jailbreak and unlock.

And on a mac, does anyone know which is the best version to use please? Also is this better than using Ziphone, signed confused!
