I have an iphone 3g i got from the US that's locked to ATT. It is currently jailbroken and has a turbosim inside for unlocking. I want to know: 1. If i do a restore in iTunes, will i need to activate the phone again? 2. If i need to activate the phone again, can i use my CLARO (official iPhone 3g carrier in my country) sim + the TurboSim to complete the activation? 3. I have been hearing about "hactivation" and want to know if when the screen comes up prompting me to activate, if i will be able to use this method to bypass activation altogether. After hactivating it, will i be able to just use my TurboSim and sim card like i did before with all the phone's features? 4. This one may be a little stupid, but i have an ATT sim card. Could i use it from my country (where the phone would be roaming) to activate? I assume you need to be within ATT's coverage to complete activation? 5. Should i do a full restore before upgrading a jailbroken iPhone 3g? So, to put these questions into context, i have an ATT iphone 3g, jailbroken, and using a TurboSim for unlocking. When Apple releases a new firmware and i do the upgrade, i think it will ask me to activate the phone again. I'm not in the US so i don't know if Jailbreaking will bypass the activation or the TurboSim and sim card from the official iPhone carrier here (CLARO) can work together to do the trick. I do understand that my CLARO sim cannot work in the ATT locked iPhone by itself. Any help is greatly appreciated as i have been gooling and i am just thoroughly confused on the activation part of things for people living outside of the country their iphone was bought in.
