Activate Iphone 3GS on O2 uk for ios4 jailbreak

Hi, I want to jailbreak my phone with 4.0.1, now it's on 3.1.2 Jailbreakme guide advices to activate the phone. I bought it off Ebay and was wondering if I can activate it on any O2 card or does it have to be the specific one that came with the phone? Im not sure about the phonebook sim, as I can't find it for cheap online.

It can be any O2 sim, as long as its an O2 iphone.
