this week im buying an iphone 4 and i was wondering if there was any way for me to activate it without having to get a contract and if so what do i need to do? If anyone can help me i would really appreciate it...

yes im buying the phone with no commitment and i also live in the us. I was told by someone that i could buy the phone and and use it as a prepaid under the go phone plans but i have no clue as to how to set my phone up so that i can use it

Yes, it will work fine with any prepaid AT&T gophone sim.
You will have to cut the sim to microsim or go to an at&t store and tell them to set you up a prepaid account on a microsim.
You just pop the sim in and activate it thru itunes with no probs.

so are they going to allow me to make activate the micro sim on prepaid and if they do will it work in the iphone 4 without me having to jailbreak the phone?

can i use the micro sim that comes with the iphone 4 and if so how would i go about activating it?

I thought the SIM card needs to be tied with a number to bypass iTunes.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

someone told me that the sim card will be locked to the phone and that i will have to use it on contract....but someone else told me that if i activate it on prepaid before i plug it in to itunes then i will be able to use it. im really confused
