Hello,

I recently received an iPhone 4s that my dad (who is on the same family plan as I am) got me using his upgrade from Verizon. He shipped it directly to me and it arrived on my doorstep this morning. I want to activate it, but I'm afraid to turn it on and it mess up his service.

What steps do I need to take to activate it for my number without messing up his phone line.

Thanks.

I believe if he told VZW which family line the iPhone should be on, you should just be able to fire it up and set up. You might call Verizon and verify though.

He told me he just ordered it on verizon.com. How does the activation process with iPhones work? I know with other Verizon phones, you dial *228 or something like that then type in your phone number. Are iPhones different?
