Activating the 2G iPhone

If I were to activate a 2G iPhone today (on AT&T, no jb/unlock), would I be put on the $20 data plan instead of the $30? Can anyone who has activated the 2G after the $30 plans were put into effect (on 3G phones) confirm?

I mroogled this, but couldnt find a clear answer from anyone who has done this

2G iPhones use the 20.00 data plan. 3g iPhones require the 30.00 data plan.
