Activating the second graphics card

I want to run my display on my second graphics card (not in the primary PCi slot of my PowerMac G3) without a display on my first graphics card. How do I activate the second graphics card. The OS can see it but whenever I plug a display only to the second graphics card, I get a blank screen completely. What is going on? 🙂 Thanx.
 
I think you'll need to remove the original video card. Although, it should autodetect which graphics card has a monitor connected.
