so I got my iTouch, but I run LINUX, I've looked into getting it running, got all the packages installed and running, but still need to install ssh service on the touch, and Before activation it wont do anything so I cant even install the ssh service. Is there any way to activate touch from linux, or do I have to wait 3 days till I get a day off to go use a friends computer?

yes, sadly you will need a computer with iTunes 4.7 and if your on windows you need service pack 2, after that you can sftp and ssh all you like from linux.

Don't you mean iTunes 7.5? You need at least OS 10.4.10 too.
Also, I have a friend who has a G3 with panther and got a touch... I activated and jailbroke it for him and now he can do almost anything to it besides add songs.
