I’m surprised I don’t see anything about this on here, but something strange just happened when I restarted my phone. My keyboard is a POS and acts up all the time. And tonight it was so frustrating I figured I would do a restart. Once I did, apparently 26.4.2 had been updated but it almost looked like I was setting up my phone for the first time, with the Hello screen displaying and asking to select a WiFi network.

Shortly after, it popped up with “Activation Lock” and made me enter my credentials. That worked fine, though at first iMessage said it was signed out and a few apps think I have a new phone. Any idea what that’s all about??? I also received an email from FindMy letting me know that Activation Lock was requesting my credentials. I’ve been using this phone (17 Pro Max) since release day.

Activation lock has been pissing me off as well.

I usually turn off my iPhone at night.

Since last iOS update sometimes it takes me through the activation lock sequence when i power iPhone on, which is very nasty because it asks for a wifi connection.

Sometimes i don't power on my iPhone until i'm out and about...and out of wifi. Hence i've been left with a brick for a few times 'til i get to my office and hook into the wifI network.

I guess nobody turns off iPhone and that's why this bug is seldom reported.

But it's an utterly unacceptable bug.
