activation problem. please help

    Well my brother got an Iphone for christmas and my aunt is going to be paying for the bill. She gave me all of her info, she has a gold american exress with UNLIMITED credit.. and its saying that we need to get a pre approved credit check from the att store.. we tried using two different credit cards. does it need to be a DEBIT card? I'm a bit confused.. When i connected mine,i used my moms debit, and she doesent have as close to as good credit as my aunt and it went right throu.. lmk what you think the problem could be.. also, when it said will you be using this phone in the same location as the billing address, i put no, because he will be using it in staten island ny and my aunt lives in nj.. the only thing that could have to do with it i would guess would just be the area code that they give you. thanks

    When you buy your iPhone in an approved store you have to pay with a credit/debit card in order for the supplier to do a credit check.

    Go to a store and get them to do the credit check on the card associated with the account that will foot the bill.

    Then try to activate the iPhone through iTunes.

    yea but why should she need a credit check when she has a gold american express card wit the best credit you can get?
