So I've had an apple watch for nearly a year now and seeing all the colored circles over the course of months in the activity app was pretty cool!

However, I noticed some days ago that all my circles had been cleared in the activity app and it was only today's date with color circles. The next day, yesterday data has gone and again only the today's circle showing colors.

Anyone know whats going on? Basically activity app on my iPhone is only showing today's activity and none in the past. Seems to reset everyday. Also, any way to get back all the data that seems to of been deleted?

Thanks.

Have you reset you iPhone and :apple:Watch? You also may need to un-pair/re-rair the 2.

I hadn't reset either to cause the issue however 2 days ago I reset both and re-paired them and issue is still present. Granted, I did use backups for each of them but that's because I didn't want to loose the data on my phone e.g. contacts / apps etc.

Do you use iCloud backup or iTunes? If you use iTunes did you encrypt? If you did not use encryption you will lose all health/fitness data when restoring.

Yes i use encryption.

This is not a backup and restore problem, guys. That is what I did to try remedy the problem and it never worked. I didn't loose data from back up and restore, it disappeared randomly one day. Ever since, activity app doesnt store past days data in the circle month layout, just the current day.

1) is everything gone before today, or from a certain point onwards?

2) have you tried force closing the activity app on iphone and opening it again?

3) go to the health app on your iphone > then "health data" at the bottom (or simply choose active energy if it's on your main screen) > share data > select your apple watch under sources. what do you see? information right up to today, information ending at a certain point in time or completely gone?

1) EVERYTHING has gone from today, even the data that was existing when I created the original post. Just to be clear, the activity app only shows today's circles, no others prior even though it did on that actual day.

2) Yerp, tried that. Even soft reset of the phone and even a full reset of phone and watch.

3) "iphone > then "health data" at the bottom" there is no 'share data' option here. If you're talking about sources then that's all setup fine as it does tracks the current days data but just isn't saving it come the next day.

you missed the bit in brackets/i bracketed it wrong. specifically go to active energy, there'll be an option for share data down below the graph.

Yer my watch is there pal. Graph has no data though. Watch is synced though as its under sources and i get texts etc on it fine

But you don't have any data for active calories?

Do you have any data in the health app at all - I'm wondering if it's a phone not a watch problem. I'm pretty sure the watch itself only stores data up until midnight if it's connected to the phone, and then let's the phone store it beyond that.

No data. No heart rate etc

how about steps (something that would be counted by your iphone)?

Not used watch today as its annoying me due to this issue.

Just checked my phone is under sources in health app and it is. Also checked under privacy if motion / fitness is activated on my phone and it is.... Steps data = 0 and phone has been on me all day...

Maybe my phone is the issue then! Doesn't explain why watch doesn't log steps though (when i wear it) as that is under sources also. Or is it that my health/activity app is buggered? Cant be gyro as landscape mode still works etc.

Iphone 6S Plus it that helps.

So I've had an apple watch for nearly a year now .

I'm sorry, but nearly a year is a bit of an exaggeration, isn't it? Even if you had it since launch day, you've only had it for 8.5 months.

But now to your question - my girlfriend had this issue as well. We unpaired the watch, backed up the iPhone, restored the iPhone, restored the backup to the phone and repaired the watch to the backup it made when we unpaired the watch. Issue hasn't presented itself again. Its been about 3 months.

I've had the watch nearly 9 months now... Better?

Tried that pal and no luck unfortunately. Seems the issue is my phone maybe as not even tracking health data without the watch being used.

You've restored both the phone and the watch? Do you have motion calibration and distance on under Location services?

Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> System Service.

Or what about Fitness tracking under Privacy?

Settings -> Privacy -> Motion and Fitness. Make sure Fitness tracking and Health are both toggled on.

Yerp all them settings are turned on! Not sure why this is happening!

Only other thing that I can think of is to set up both watch and phone as new. You could contact Apple, but I'm sure thats the first thing they are going to tell you to do.

I some how lost everything when I got my 6s so bummed because I was working on the long range trophies

yeah something is definitely clearing out the health app each day.

Just a thought. Under General: Privacy: Motion & Fitness is Fitness Tracking and all Apps cut on?
