I think Apple's wow factor on products today is only based on beautiful design + packaging..

Why is Apple failing so hard when it comes to creating software that is fun to use and has that same wow factor as when you buy the products?

When upgrading my iPHone to iOS 9 I lost all my heath data so I had to restart over with Apple Watch Activity. Before you could clearly see my progress going up, from very limited condition to someone that can run outside for an hour or so.
So I started all over, but now I'm kinda trained - not a professional but just in good/healthy condition as you'd expect form someone who's workmen out for about 3 months.
I've completed all the circles since the restart..

14 days later I already earned almost all badges I could possibly earn. I only have to beat my 48 minutes running outside record and and double my burned calories. When I do so tomorrow (expectation) I have earned all the badges I could possibly earn in the Activity app. All other badges near the bottom of that list are time bounded. 1 month workouts , 100, 356, 500 and 1000 days.

Where is the fun in this?
This is like buying a Super Mario game and running trough all 140 levels in 4 days because it's too easy. #Done playing the game..

Apple + fun software..... It's bad! It's really bad!

Kinda agree with you. You can adjust the "Move" goal - just wish you could up the exercise goal. Mine goes around 4-5 times in a regular day just at work.

Outside of the long term you really only have the other workout activities and the perfect move months. I earned most of my badges pretty quickly too so now my goals are to beat previous records and hit a happy medium of high enough goal without over doing it. Maybe in the future if not from Apple then someone, we will have some type of games or something for motivation.

We need to realize that the Apple Watch has been available for only 6 months. I would say they did pretty well on badges for a start but we can hope they expand or more third party options become available.

I think we need a more stable os before we will really see advancements and upgrades. Just my opinion.

I think they can add more badges and awards sooner than later. The watch does not have to do anything more than it does already, the badges come from the already collected data and the Activity app to complete an achievement. Adding more would be an update to the Activity application but since this is built in to the OS, it will have to wait for a larger update to be done. I agree they have done a good job and I'm not upset with what we have. Just agreeing though, more motivation is a good thing.

Completely agree. It has become the best motivation for me to keep my streak going. Adding more badges seems like an obvious choice to add sooner than later.

I would like to see badges for completing all three rings for the entire month much like the weekly one which is available. Yes, it's pretty hard not to reach the stand and exercise rings daily, but I still feel it would create a tad more motivation. Maybe they could also add more badges for doubling or tripling your exercise ring.

You have done the easy ones, now the hard ones will take you longer and more effort!

People say that it's only been out a short time but Apple should have added more badges and social features with iOS 9 and wOS 2.
