I am writing this hoping that someone from Apple monitors these threads. I have a specific use case, but I doubt I am the only one that has similar situations.

I am a high school and college basketball official. As such, not only can I not wear my Apple watch on the court, I don't even want it with me in the schools for fear of someone stealing it while I am on the court. However, I do have a Jawbone Move that is small, can go in my pocket and will write to the Health app. The problem is, it doesn't write to the activity app - this could be done via two-way communication between the Health app and Activity app. Additionally, I have a Bowflex M5 Max Trainer that connects to my phone via bluetooth and writes to the Health App. The 7 minute workout app also writes to the Health app.

Yesterday I was talking to a co-worker that says he swims a lot - every day - and cannot keep his watch on while doing so.

I like the Apple Watch, Activity app and Health app. With a little work tracking could be greatly improved.

There is two-way communication between the Activity App and Health app. It's just Apple doesn't want you to use anything but an Apple Watch with the Activity App because it's one of the Watch's "features". Doubt that's gonna change any time soon.

So what information does the Health App send to the Activity app?

I set up the health app before I got my watch. When I was setting up the watch and the activity app my weight, sex, age and height were already there. On my girlfriends watch, where I hadn't set up health on her phone I had to add that data on setup.

LOL. Please show me a screen shot of this - in either app - that says health is passing information.
I use WiThings scales to and it connects to the Health app. My :apple:Watch app weight is also updated dynamically.

Again - LOL. I also use a Withings scale. My question is what data is passed to the Activity App. I'm not talking about the Apple Watch app, I am asking what information is passed TO the Activity app. If I run 10 miles with my Jawbone Move, I want it passed to the Activity App. I just want the Activity App to show all of my activity. Unfortunately I cannot always use the watch during my activities.

Again LOL but data can be written from Health to the Activity App. Not sure about the Jawbone app but if it will export a standard TCX file you can use an App like RunGap that will write to Health and then be transferred to the Activity app. Here is an example:

This is an example of a run I recorded on my Garmin 620 watch and exported the TCX file to RunGap, then imported to Health and populated to the Activity app. Now can you LOL at that?

Thank you! That only took 19 hours. So now I am left wondering how to get an activity from the Jawbone app that DOES go to the Health app to the Activity app.

That was truly helpful and I thank you (seriously).

Julien, does this utility sync activities all the way down to the Activity app on the watch, or does it just stop at the phone app? And, do you know if it also syncs swim data from Garmin?

For example, if I do a run or a swim with my Garmin, can I get this utility to push the active minutes and steps (if a run) all the way to my watch so I can see the day's progress on my wrist? Or, does it just stop at the app on the phone?

One of my frustrations is that I love the rings and progress meter on the AW, but the AW is unaware of any activity that another device captured. So, I run with my AW despite the fact it provides little value. But, I also swim a couple times per week, and the phone and AW are totally oblivious; therefore I never get to fill the calories and minutes rings on my swim days.

Sorry, I only did it a couple of times back in July while beta testing. I use my Garmin simultaneously with my :apple:Watch and keep the data segregated. So I'm not sure.

I have a Jawbone Move, with the accompanying app. I used it this week and the activities didn't make it to the activity app.
