Activity Monitor - CPU Usage

Has anyone else noticed the CPU Usage graphs are not updating as often? I prefer the (near) instant reads rather than this form of updating. I'll adjust; but, I was curious if it's my system or simply new behavior.

From the menu: View->Update Frequency->1/2/5 seconds. Default seems to be 5 seconds.

Any clue if there is a way to reactivate Memory Usage in the App icon? Seems to only allow CPU, Disk, or Network activity now.
