Hello MacRumors community!

I have been a follower for a long time but never actually got around to creating an account until recently, it's awesome to be involved in your community!

I just have a small problem that could very well be nothing serious.
I always like to keep on top of what is running on my Mac using the Activity Monitor.
I noticed sometime after I had upgraded to Mountain Lion that a process had appeared in my Activity Monitor called 'wdhelper'.
Google seems to believe I am talking about wdhelper.dll for Windows and not much is spoken of the process for Mac.
Any of you guys know anymore information on this process that you could share? I would be very grateful!

Thanks guys!

Do you have a Western Digital external drive and have their software installed?

Thank you for replying. No I don't have any external drive or the any software for an external drive. To be honest I actually have very little software installed on this machine. I was wondering if it could be part of ML as default?
