iPhone Activity on iPhone

When am not wearing my AWU, should my iPhone (15 Pro Max, latest iOS) not still count steps for Activity, and such?

Currently, that is not the case, and the Activity app (Move, Exercise, Stand, Steps) is all greyed out and empty. Of course, I would at a minimum expect the Steps section to have data.

I figured it out...
Activity app = Apple Watch data
Health app \ Browse \ Activity = iPhone steps and such

I mean the way the watch count steps, it counts hand movements.

I would sit all day in front of my Mac and it would tell me I made a record in walking… lol
