Actual iPod Mini HD Size

Since it looks like all I'm going to have is a headache from an iBook with my major, I have placed an order for a Gateway laptop. However, tomorrow, I am purchasing an iPod mini from the Apple store. I was wondering if anyone who has the 4GB model can tell me what the ACTUAL formatted size is. I currently have 2.28 GB of music on my eMac. I just want to know how much more space I'd have after my songs are on. Thanks everyone!

Oh, and does the Apple Store honor the edu discount on iPod Minis? I remember that they don't honor it for software (at least not for Tiger), but I'm not sure about iPods.

When I had my mini (yesterday 😀), it had 3.67 GB of usable space.

Alright, thanks...I am gonna get the 4 GB model then, I only have 590 songs, and by the time I'd fill up the mini, I'm sure I'll be looking for a new one probably.

Anyone know about if Apple Stores honor the edu discount for the minis?
