Suddenly this morning my AOL account stopped acquiring new mail on my Mail. 3 year old Macbook running Snow Leopard with all updates. My AOL account still works on my husband's iMac. It is an imap account. I am dependent on this account that i have had for many years. Can anyone help me?

Have you tried to repair disk permissions? It sounds like the mail app is the culprit.
