A few months ago I installed AdBlock for Firefox, and it has been working great. However, a few good websites give a message asking that I remove my ad blocker, and I would like to disable it for those sites.

Problem: How do I find this app/extension on my Mac? I've done all kind of searches but am unable to locate it. Or maybe there is something else I should be doing? I've searched my Firefox 44.0.2 Preferences and don't see anything there. I've also checked the AdBlock.com site but found nothing there. Thanks for any help!

Hello stasha,
firstly to your question: extensions (or addons) are installed under Addons tab, see the link for instructions hoe to get there in Firefox - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/k...o-firefox#w_how-do-i-find-and-install-add-ons

secondly: let me recommend to you a much more efficient ad blocker for your web browser, its called uBlock - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ Id suggest you to remove AdBlock and install uBlock which very easily allows you to enabled/disable it per site by clicking the big blue button (see screenshots ) blue means enabled, gray means disabled - so simply visit the site and click turn off button to disable uBlock for that particular site.

Hope it helps.

+1 also for uBlock Origin. Just be careful when looking through the extension lists that you get the actual uBlock Origin and not one of the many knock-offs that use the same name to purposely confuse. Here are the official pages:

GitHub Home: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock
Chrome Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm
Firefox add-ons: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/ublock-origin/

Some additional extensions everyone should consider are:

EFF HTTPS Everywhere: https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere

What do you do if you use Safari? uBlock seems to be the only option.
yea, unfortunately uBlock Origin is not available for Safari. If I would be El Cap User I would probably look for extensions using Content Blocker API (such as the one Weaselboy mentioned) as they should be much more efficient and faster.
Im currently running Mavericks (10.9) and although I use Safari from time to time I have uBlock and Ghostery installed, but mostly I just use Chrome with uBlock Origin and Ghostery.
