Is there anyway to block really intrusive ads on websites like you can with regular desktop browsers? Some websites are unusable.

    Damn.

...still I guess those annoying flash based ads won't show up?

no they shouldn't do. Depending on what sites you go on they may have their own dedicated app which will most likely not have ads? :)

It really depends on how far you want to go. I have a home/office network that consists of a few servers that are used for business. Almost all of the ad networks are directed to 127.0.0.1 on the DNS Server, so no matter the device that is accessing the web whether it be iPhone, tablet, Macintosh, Windows - it will be served up cleanly with no intrusive advertisements. The main ones I am concerned about are all of the google-related domains.

Well, I spend most of my time on www.digitalspy.co.uk and the forums there.

mmmm. there is an App to view forums. TapTalk I think. Not sure if it will work for this site though. Maybe someone here will weigh in with a suggestion :)
