Ad Hoc Network

Can someone point me to an idiot's guide to creating a temporary ad-hoc wifi network in Sonoma?

I'm working in a venue with no wi-fi and no mobile phone signal and I need to control an iTunes playlist using the remote app on my iPhone.

You could try setting up internet sharing on the Mac. It should create a subnet that would work with apps using BonJour.

I've been trying to do that with no success. In the end just used an old router with no internet connection. That works fine apart from the occasional annoying pop up on the phone about the wifi network not being connected to the internet 🙄
