Anyone else notice this ad (I saw it on CNN.com) floating around?

Sure does look Mac-ish, huh?

I've noticed that PeeCee (non OS X) ads have been using wavy, Mac-ish blue backgrounds a lot lately.

It used to be that teletubby hill in all the ads.

Mm... wavy blue background.. 🙂

I always thought of it as the hill the droid army comes across in Star Wars: Episode I.

I suppose it's technically portable....

Now I really have to do some work. 😀

SSSHHHHHH!!!! You've given the game away. The TubbyBooks were supposed to be kept under wraps until Apple's official press release later on!

<waits for lawsuit> 😀

you should see these old Tiny adverts in computer mags, they were had photos of their laptops running OS9! as recently as early this year too. it took a keen eye to find those 😉

These adds are becoming increasingly common, especially among Sony and Dell.
Just goes to show they WISH their products were as cool as Macs. But they aren't. they suck. Suck so abd they should die.

Wait... MadJew's a teletubby?! *grabs fire extinguisher*

Notice there are no desktop icons. That's what it looks like when "explorer" (the Windows shell that provides access to all the programs) has crashed and failed to restart. It's off at the power switch and battery removed when that happens, since usually ctrl-alt-delete will fail to work.

I have a blue ripple background on my PC - anything else is too distracting.

my university Managed Desktop has been using the OS X blue wallpaper for all it's PC for many years now...

few actually know they belong to Macs

What's worse are those ads/tv shows/movies featuring de-badged Powerbooks/iBooks with WindowsXP 'Shopped onto them. Ack.

Those Droids don't stand a chance against Master Tinky winky

😱

Now that might have made the movie much more interesting. 😀

You know, now that I think about it...Jar Jar sounds a lot like a Teletubby...

Ugh...Teletubby/Star Wars conspiracies, I've not been getting enough sleep.

I hate that. On Alias, they put an ugly red dot over the very cool glowing apple on the back of everyone's PowerBooks. So annoying.

Linux has had the "bluecurve" appearance for a long time as well... I don't think it's particularly an Apple trademark.

I have no recollection of where exactly, but I have seen ads for Windows computers that had a picture of the computer whose screen was entirely mac os x. There was a dock, a top menu bar, and the icons were the same...🙄 The advertising agencies are all using Macs for their graphics anyway, and they recognize what's good!

My impression is that if an ad features a laptop somewhere in setup - 9 out of 10 times it will be a PB.
