Hi, the thin line of the two has at the beginning ( Out from the adapter ) burned so that the plastic is gone. I can't get it to charge my computer, this happened over one day. I've got some power out of it occasions but that's all.

Is there anything I can do?

Early 2007 Macbook Pro, adapter before the newest one.

Buy a new adapter?

If you still have Apple Care then you might be able to get one free from Apple. This has happened to other people, so even if you're out of warranty a call to Apple might get you a new one.

Yes, these kinds of failures are common. If still under warranty (1-year limited warranty or AppleCare), Apple will probably replace the power adapter at no charge.
