I use a 17" MBP, and frankly, I don't see how I could use the 13" MBP with its resolution. Can't you wait and save up for at least the 15" MBP?

agreed, when i see my brother's 15" i laugh at him :p
The 17" isn't big at all IMO. But then again I don't really travel too much with it. (on plaines etc)

Yeah I appreciate the comments saying that the screen will be too small sometimes, but when I am out at school it will be fine. And the 15" is too big to carry around easily and without hassle in my opinion.

Cheers for the monitor recommendations, keep them coming!

Also, a tad un-related but is it possible to hook up a PS3 to these monitors? Cheers

I bought this LCD for my MacBook Air. Very nice and good value.

The one I posted here has HDMI, DVI, and VGA so is good for the PS3, a Mac, and a VGA source all at one time, so you can switch between them on-the-fly.

Well, I suppose I could stretch to the 15", however I am worried that that will be wayyy to be and not practical to carry around to and from school. I would love to have a 15", but this inability in my eyes is making it a less attractive proposition. Anyone got any experience of carrying a Macbook Pro 15" around?

Thanks

@Pixellatted - that one does look nice, might just get it if I get the 13", I could easily cope without a monitor if I get the 15"....

Actually, I am pretty certain I will get the 13". The size of it does matter a lot to me and 15" is just toooo big. Can't wait to get it!

Yeah the 15" looks ok for portability but nowhere near as good as the 13". And I don't need that much power really, my current machine is really weak, 1.86Ghz, 120Gb, 2Gb, and windows :p So I am sure the 13" will be fine. And in a year or so I could put a SSD in and 8GB RAM if i need more power :D

I'm hoping ta get a SSD into my 13" MBP by the end of the year. I'm sure ya won't need 8GB (4GB can run pretty much ANYTHING a normal user would want), but if you need to I suppose the option is always there.

Right I just popped down to my local apple store to try them both out. 13" seems ok, but oh my god, I am in love with the 15". The screen Is just so so nice! And also on the 15" I noticed that the screen runs almost to the edge of the glass, whereas there is like an inch of black on the 13" which doesn't look as good to me. But still, the 13" is tempting just because of it's size :S I'm so confused :(
