I came home after installing iOS 18 on my phone and all of my nano leaf bulbs and strips which are adaptive are now a much warmer orange color at night then they once were. Yesterday they were kind of mixed up, but today they have all made the change.

Yes, I noticed that. I don't mind but I'd like them to stay set to adaptive. So often, my hue lights all change somehow to be non adaptive.

Are you guys using your bulbs via Matter or direct to HomeKit? I have this annoying bug that’s been persisting since the beginning of iOS 17 and I think it has something to do with Adaptive Lighting. The colors of the lights aren’t reporting properly in the Home app. Hue lights grouped together and I’m currently connected directly to HomeKit. Wonder if some how, some way Matter might be void of this bug.

For the record, this bug isn’t present in any of the 3rd party Home apps or the Hue app.

Matter bulbs don’t have Adaptive lighting in HomeKit. It really sucks. That was the feature I was looking forward to when I got my Nanoleaf bulbs.

I don't have any adaptive lighting settings for any of my bulbs in the Home app.
Damn well that sucks. Was going to migrate my Hue bridges to Matter this weekend to see if it clears my bugs with HomeKit… but not at the expense of losing Adaptive Lighting. Nanoleaf definitely supports AL… Appreciate the heads up.

Check again and/or make sure your bulbs are updated.

The Home app just let me know Adaptive Lighting is now available for my Nanoleaf Matter bulb. I'm excited! It can finally match the older ones I have. Might have to get some more now that Matter supports Adaptive Lighting.

Matter strikes again!
No one ever believes when I shout Matter doesn't Matter.

Matter provides zero value over normal Homekit accessories. And even when it does work, it really doesnt.

If you can, don't use Matter!

My Nanoleaf bulbs now have the Adaptive Lighting feature. I got it sometime during the day. I now also have the option of choosing my preferred hub. That feature was also missing for me. I don’t think this was so much a Matter issue. I think it was . I had to unplug all 9 HomePods and 2 TVs for 30min to get this all working.

Glad to hear they have fixed adaptive lighting with Matter. Eventually Matter will be ironed out and it will work just as good as native HomeKit accessories, but we aren’t there yet. I still say avoid Matter unless you absolutely require it.
