The ANC continues to be an issue for the Airpods Max. It's as if Apple makes the ANC bad so when the new version comes out, they can say it's 2X better than the original.
Curious what problems you are having with them? I have them and the ANC works great for me.

Airpods Max is an instant buy at 429$.

I bought thinking about returning but oh boy. The experience is something. The volume notch, transparency, Find My integration is unmatched at any price point
I paid full price for mine the minute they came out. Would've been nice to save that bit of money, but I use them so much and they work so well that I frankly forgot about the price long ago. Zero regrets.

I get most of what they are trying to do except sirens. That seems like a safety problem. Also what happens if this blocks out fire alarms too…

That’s not how it works.
It just turns down really loud sounds to make them more safe for your ears, it doesn’t disable them entirely.
Even with noise cancellation on if a fire alarm goes off nearby, you’re still definitely going to hear it.
Noise canceling headphones have Existed for literal decades, why is this only an issue now that Apple is doing it?
It’s the AirTags thing all over again

I have the Beats Fit Pros and I do construction for a living. Having them constantly cut out from loud sounds is annoying. Sometimes they even fully disconnect and then have to reconnect. If I have both of them in, sometimes only one disconnects and the other doesn't but does cut sound, so when the one that didn't disconnect comes back, I will get play back in one ear while the other is trying to reconnect; other bud makes the chime when it reconnects, and then starts playing. So annoying. I really hope they bring this feature over to the Beats as well! If they do bring it over in the next update, I'll try and come back here and update.

I am so impressed with the immersion these are capable of for when I’m gaming
What system do you use them with? My anker Q30s are already good; I wonder what a pair of real headphones would be like!

I see these on sale often for $429, which is not *quite* low enough to pull the trigger.

I'm sure when they announce the second edition, I might be able to snag the original version for $350 if I'm lucky.
I just bought some used for $350, they're great!

Lately I’ve spent the most time on my Xbox series X connected to an LG oledtv. Since it’s October, I’m playing more horror classics like F.E.A.R.

I definitely recommend the APM, if you can afford them. I have literally used mine for hundreds of hours. Best sound quality yet for a wireless headset.

I don't use them at all. I just trashed $$$.
Sell them to someone here that’s waiting to buy at $350 and recoup some of your investment. I bought mine full price and love them without regret. I sleep with them because they are so comfortable, and do a stellar job of blocking out street noise while playing a custom mix of babbling brook, Niagara Falls, hot tub - all at the same time... 😉

Thanks for the advice, not going to sell, I'll just spend that money on food... The main thing missing from APM is headphone jack and ability to work without battery.
