Hi,
I notice Safari Extensions offers Adblock Plus. I have never used this before so thought I would ask before downloading it. I understand it works well but what are the downsides? e.g does it slow the computer ?
Many thanks

Adblock Plus does have "acceptable ads" meaning they let some ads through. It's not that resource intensive, but if you have an older machine I recommend using uBlock (ublock.org). It's basically the same thing but it uses way less resources.

Hi,
thanks for response. I have a 2011 MBP and got sick and tired of adverts so installed Adblock Plus. Works a treat. Have just replaced my desktop with a late 2015 iMac, but wanted a view on Adblock before I install it on that. In that my desktop is just about as new as can be should I go for Adblock?

Many thanks
