Since Safari on iOS does not support plug-ins, it's not possible to do a "real" adblocker like the one for Mac OS. The blockers available in the app store either are separate browsers with an integrated adblocker, or they install custom web proxy or VPN profiles. The latter approach is a bit of a hack and has some limitations (e.g. autoconfig proxy profiles only work on Wifi).

My recommendation would be to use one of the established alternative browsers with integrated ad blockers, such as iCab Mobile, Atomic or Mercury.

Any recommendations from the three that you mentioned?

Click on SETTINGS
Click on WIFI
Click on the I button of your wifi network
Switch HTTP proxy to AUTO
type in http://shion.ca/ios/adblockpub.js

Do this for every unique wifi you connect to.

What it does: uses keywords to forward ads to a blackhole proxy. (google DNS)

It does an excellent job of blocking ads.
