Hey, i will soon be getting a new powerbook.

I'm interested in the ADC membership ($99) so i can get a discount on the hardware. I don't do too much developing, but i'm learning :D

The problem is i'm in europe... and there is no information on student developers in europe i can see on their site, and no developer store.

converted from £1299, the 12" powerbook is roughly $2078

however in the developer store, it's only $1299 = £811 + 17.5% tax = £953.

Big difference for someone who does NOT have a lot of money.

Has anyone from europe joined the european student developer program and purchased hardware through it?

Thanks

I posted on another thread with a similar question, but guess it may e dead as no one has replied to it for a while.

I'm in uk and as you say, there are no prices there for student or regular adc members (just takes you to regular store). I'd like to buy a powerbook 15" if it is much cheaper than 2000 pund reg price and 1800 ish student. I'd also liketo know if i buy say an iPod with it, whether that would be reduced (reg edu store i can get 120 pound off if bought with mac) and if panther and other software would be sent on release so that i dont have to wait or do student adc have to pay full cost?

ADC...

Have your tried this page...

http://developer.apple.com/membership/hardware.html

I did it in the US, and it was very easy. The above web page has the insturctions for Europe. Just fax them some confirmation from your school, and within 48 hours I was approved. I saved hundreds of dollars on my G5 purchase. Plus, you get some developer tools, magazine subscription discounts, shirt, etc. It's shame you only get one puchase for life, it spoils you! :D

I ordered in the US, so keep that in mind... Everything on my order was discounted. I bought a LCD screen, iPod, and G5 and each was reduced. (All at different %'s though)

i did look at that page 3-22, but theres no info on student developer. Only on the expensive adult developer.
