ADC Student Developer

Oh, Sorry I looked at every post but the one right above, Thank you though.

One question though, If I go to the student developer store I'm able to purchase the products at 20% and I'm a developer, why is that? I went through the entire check out with a Mac Pro to see if I was able to and I was able to get to the very end to where all I had to do was use my credit card to pay.

So do you really need to be a developer to use this discount?

I am sorry i keep asking question, but i find this is the best place to get answers. With the student developer package you get a download of a mac OS. Can you download that anytime within that year?

Also is the discount for just one piece of hardware or would i be able to order a laptop and an ipod?

Yes definetly! Although you will be able to place the order, your order will be on hold until they verify your ADC membership and your available hardware assets. If you dont have an ADC membership your order will be cancelled.

There is the free online developer membership, does anyone know if you signup for that one will you receive the 20% discount or must you sign up for a paid membership and if so which one?

Sorry to hijack someone else's thread, but I have a related question.

I am thinking of getting the student ADC membership in May to use the discount (which is slight better than regular student price, even with the $99 membership fee) sometime in the next year (I will graduate over the summer hopefully so this is my last chance to signup and the get a hardware discount to use as a student).

I am looking into a 15" MBP, a 24" LED Cinema Display, and AppleCare.

As long as all three items are purchased at one will that be okay? Does the display count as a separate hardware item, or is it fine since it is being purchased with the laptop?

I think because the 24" ACD is part the options of the Macbook Pro it will only count as one piece of hardware.

PAID ONLY. The free membership gives you access to the tools, SDKs, and some reading/learning material.

after you activate your ADC, can you step into a store (a physical one, not an online one) to use your discount to buy the macbook pro?

While the discount is pretty sweet what about this coming back to school sale that Apple will more then likely have. If you are a student developer can you still get the usual iPod+printer deal? Otherwise they come out to like the same.
