Hi,

My problem looks similar to the issue described in this thread, but I have additional specifics, which I think require a separate thread:
  • We have 2 Apple TV 4 (HD) in our house. One is on my wife's Apple ID; the other one is on my Apple ID. They are in different locations and have different apps installed (one of the reasons to have them with different Apple IDs);
  • We have Family Sharing and I'm the Organizer, my wife is Parent/Guardian;
  • With my Apple ID, we signed up for Fitness+ and we would like to have it on both Apple TVs;
  • Fitness+ is shared with everyone in Family Sharing
When we opened Fitness+ on my wife's Apple TV, her Apple Watch wasn't showing up. I searched for what could be the issue and I found an article saying that the Apple TV has to be added to Home if there are issues connecting it to Apple Watch. Following the instructions, my wife created a new Home with her Apple ID and added the Apple TV to it and now Fitness+ is working with her watch. On "my" Apple TV her watch showed without any issues (I installed Fitness+ after we had it setup on "her" Apple TV).

The problem we have now is that we have two Homes: one with my wife's Apple ID and one with mine and we would like to have only one (mine, preferably).

I would appreciate directions/advise how to do that.

Thank you!

have you tried adding each other as a second user?
do you share your home with her? (in the homekit sense)

you can turn off one Home Screen, and it won't sync apps, it's in the user and accounts settings, in the settings for the default user. So her aTV could be signed into your account, but she can still have her own apps.

Thank you, waw74,

Yes, we are second users of each other’s Home and we share Homes. I’ll look at the link you posted, but is there a way to add her Apple TV, signed with her Apple ID to my Home? She’ll delete her home, of course (she doesn’t need it anyway).

Thank you!

For everyone having a similar problem, here is how I added my wife’s Apple TV to the my Home:
  • Remove the current default user (e.g. my wife’s);
  • Remove the user to whose Home the Apple TV will be added - the “Home user” - since and an existing user cannot be added as default user (e.g. my user);
  • Add the “Home user” as a default user;
  • Turn off the “One Home Screen” option in Settings for the default user;
  • Add additional users (e.g. my wife’s user);
  • Add the Apple TV to the Home associated with the “Home user” (the Apple TV allows to be added only to default user’s home);
  • Select the other account as current account.
Done. I wish it was easier, though.
