Over the weekend, the company I work at has gone from M$ Exchange to Google. As a Mac user, I've been looking forward to this change, until I opened Gmail on the web.
The amount of clutter is un-be-lie-va-ble, there's no way I'm going to handle my emails over there (that is, if I'd be able to find them between all the buttons, lists, tabs, panes, etc etc).

There's a few other Gmail clients, I know, but I'd like to stay with Apple Mail. Clean, simple, focused.
Anything I should be paying attention to, or does it work well?

Mail just does it

There are many issues with the current version of Apple Mail but add a Gmail account hasn’t been one of them. When you choose to add a new email account in Mail, the program offers to help you with many of the most frequently used email services. Gmail is one of them. All I had to do was choose Gmail and fill in a few common and known items and Mail did all the work for me.
