Add HD Tag in iTunes

Hi

I'm not great with stuff like this but I have an extensive array of DVD's that I have converted using handbrake using the AppleTV settings.

How do I add a HD Tag to them in iTunes. I need something pretty straight forward.

Apple TV automatically adds the HD flag to anything that is greater than 480. Even if you tag something as HD, Apple TV will ignore it if it's not.

If you want the tag to show up in your iTunes library, you have to use Subler to do it. Just open the file in Subler, go to the "Other Settings" tab, check the HD box and save.

As someone else has pointed out, why would you want to tag DVD's as being HD?

The only reason of which I'm aware is to get iTunes to group different versions of the same movie under one library entry. I do this when I make a low-res version of a movie for my iPhone, alongside the full-res version for Apple TV. Tagging the full version as "HD" lets iTunes know which version to feed the Apple TV and which to feed the iPhone, but the Apple TV knows it's not getting an HD movie so it doesn't flag it as such.
 
Thanks guys I've realised they are not HD just DVD, my mistake. However, I do have a couple of HD TV shows that were converted so it does still stand.

Will a converted DVD using Handbrake with AppleTV setting go on an ipod and iphone?

If I do have an SD version and HD version how do I make them 1 entry in my library?

Use Subler to assign the same cnID to both versions--will need to add the field on the Metadata tab. As previously mentioned, go to the Other Settings tab to check the HD box for that respective version and leave empty for the SD version, and then save each version. Upon import into iTunes, you should see one listing with the tags 'HD-SD' showing.
 
Sorry I need something similar to Subler but for Windows 7. Apologies I never made that clear.
