Does anyone know a website that shows you how to install memory

I bought a 512 stick from crucial for my 17" powerbook.

Also, from what I get from my earlier post on new battery,

I need to fully charge prior to first use, than let it run down all the way, and recharge

will this make it last longer for battery life and will it hald a charge longer while I use PB

Thanks :D

Yes.

I did a little research and found some information for you.

Here's how to calibrate your battery:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86284

Here's how to install RAM (Download the PDF from this site):
http://www.apple.com/support/powerbook/doityourself/17al/

If you want to learn more about your new PowerBook, I suggest you check out the one site everyone forgets about: APPLE.COM

There's a support section on the site that'll give you a lot of information. Also, be sure to read the books that come with your machine.

I also wanted to give my 17" PB shipping update:

11:37 am Left FedEx Origin Location SHANGHAI CN

Apr 29, 2004 9:30 pm Left FedEx Ramp SHANGHAI CN

4:02 pm Left FedEx Sort Facility ANCHORAGE AK --- how soon do you think it will be in my hands,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I'm so freakin EXCITED, this is my first Mac and I figured since I could call the my midlife crisis, I should go with the Porche------ 17" loaded Powerbook. :D

Well, I can't give you an feedback on US waiting times, since I'm firmly here in Europe, but I can tell you that this Powerbook (12") which I received 1 hour ago is su-fricking-perb.

I had a 12" iBook a few weeks ago which I returned with all the updates and price drops. I'm just loving this... It's so sweet. The iBook was my first Mac, and it was a great computer, just happened that they brought out new ones 4 days after I received mine... MacOS X is sweet. I was forced to use Windows 98 for a couple of days, on a Dell notebook no less (very noisy and horrible keyboard), and I was really missing X, even though I've been using it for hardly any time.

And yeah, the community of Mac users is great.

Cheers, and g'luck!
