I've searched the forums and can't find a simple solution. My employer sent me a form in .pdf form to fill out and send back. How can I fill out the form in Preview and send it back instead of having to print, complete, scan and re-send the form? I can mark up and annotate and add notes and all that jazz, but I just want it to be simple and have the text I want appear in the blank forms! Am I just being a moron or can this not be done in Preview?

I'm quite sure that Preview cannot do this. You will need Adobe or a similar program.

Preview has been able to do this since Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger", I believe. I know it works in 10.5 "Leopard", since I have successfully filled out a PDF form with Preview before.

The PDF your employer created has to have the fields already assigned. So if your employer didn't set it up correctly, Preview won't be able to edit the fields.
