    Hi all,

I've been looking into adding two VGA monitors to my MBP with one of these Matrox Dualhead2go fellers but not sure if it's really worth the bother. What are your thoughts on the below? Struggling to find specific details online.

    I have a 13" Late 2011 (8,1) and a couple of VGA monitors.

There's an analogue version that takes a VGA input. Would a displayport to VGA adaptor work well for this?

Ideally I wouldn't use my USB port to power the Matrox unit. Could I use a USB power adaptor to come right out of a power socket?

Right now I have one monitor hooked up, which is 1280x1024. I've read that the Matrox unit fools your MBP into thinking that your two monitors is actually one long 1360x768 screen. Will I really feel any benefit of spreading 1360 pixels across two 1280 screens?

    Thanks for reading!
