Okay guys, so I just bought a new MBA, and copying everything over from our old Mac was flawless but still having the issue below wen adding contacts to my Gmail:

Each and every contact will crash before having the chance to enter complete information on the card. I can enter a Name/Company, etc, but once I get to the 3rd or 4th line the app crashes causing me to have to start over again. The only way to complete a card is to input a Name/Company then Save. I can then go on to Edit and fill out the rest of the info. What I have read is that this could have something to do with Google DAV cards maybe and to disable it before adding, then enable once the contact info is added. I have no idea how to even do this?

Running the latest OS of course. Hope this makes sense.

I'm not quite following your error messages. It might help to post a screenshot or two if you can blank out confidential info. One strategy I think you might consider is customizing your email so that the "Add Contact" icon is in your email headers. By using that feature it might help.

I've had a lot of issues with the Contacts app as well. I've had crashes, and I've also seen a completely absurd issue where, when adding a new card, the card gets "saved" or something and the edit process gets abruptly cut off and the card disappears. The partially filled out card can then be found among your contacts.

I thought initially this had to do with my syncing my contacts to Google. But I switched all my contacts over to iCloud and the issue remains.

Meanwhile, Contacts on iOS works wonderfully. It feels more and more like Mac users are getting table scraps while Apple's attention is focused elsewhere.

well not sure I solved things but tried something similar to what you have, and managed to add 1 new Card with no crashes, lol. I disabled Contacts on my main Google Email account under "internet accounts" sidebar before entering the card info, and once completed, went back to enable it. This contact synced to my Google Accounts on my Z Fold 5..sooo? Maybe.?

Interesting workaround. I had a hunch it was sync that was messing things up, but hadn't thought to temporarily disable it. I'm not sure how iCloud would handle that, but I'll poke around and give it a shot.

The problem is in syncing with either Icloud or Google.
Icloud contacts update always brings up spinning wheel and google it crashes out...

I've seen the same thing with my contacts synced with Google in Ventura. It seems like I remember Monterrey having the same issue. I turned on contacts syncing with my Office 365 Exchange account (as a test) and it looks like it's messed up in the same way.

Seems like iCloud works OK in Ventura…for me.

So…currently…I can add a contact in iCloud and drag/copy it over to the Google account. Another way is to open Google contacts in a web browser and add it there. That's easier than testing a bunch of alternative contacts apps.

Contacts on iOS has always been solid for me synced to my Google account.

Apple needs to fix.
