macOS Adding an item to the Contextual Menu in Mail.app

Hi,

I have been looking into the Contextual Menu system, and have seen a few examples that add to the Finder's CM. What I'm looking for is a way to add items to Mail.apps CM. I want to be able to allow a user to select some text from a message, right-click, and then select an option from the menu.

Does anyone have any examples of how this might work?

I imagine it'd probably be a lot easier to just write an AppleScript that gets called from the scripts menu which then handles the selected text.
