    There was some concern that voters might be confused by this feature.

    With XenForo at this site: after a poll begins, it's impossible to change an option.

    If the feature is used considerately – in particular, if each voter is allowed to change his or her vote, then the feature may be very useful; not necessarily confusing.

    http://forums.macrumors.com/posts/21463218 draws attention to a poll that omitted at least one option. Addition of an option -- in that case, Hawaii -- should make the poll more attractive and gain more votes for the poll.
