Pay in full: $199
Pay monthly: $9.99 for 24 months

WTF?

Can you opt to pay off the AppleCare+ early/separate from the phone payments if you so desire? Looking to do Verizon Device Payment and made a last second decision to probably get AC for my wife only to see that it's apparently more expensive when you just break it up into monthly payments.

Be sure you are getting AppleCare because when I bought my 6+ from Verizon all you could get was their own insurance plan, not AppleCare. Don't know if that has changed.

If you buy an iPhone from VZW, you have to pay in full. The pay monthly option is only available if you buy directly from Apple.

If you buy Apple care from a carrier ask for proof of coverage.
It seems like the carriers float coverage until the customer needs it.

You may think you’re covered but when you go to get service you will more than likely be surprised, not in a good way either

Can’t you just go through Apple directly? I got mine from Best Buy and was able to pay Apple monthly for AppleCare

I'm talking about the Apple Care. VZW makes you pay the full $199 up front.

So am I. You don't have to pay for AC in full according to Apple's site.

You can do Verizon Device Payment through the Apple store. You then have the option to add AC to that device payment for $199, or $9.99/mo for 24 months.

You don't need to pay in full for AC when doing Verizon device Payment through the Apple store - I just walked through the Apple site before creating this thread.

It seems a lot of people often don't realize you can do carrier financing through Apple.

The original question still stands.

My X was done through Apple for Verizon IUP but the bill comes from Verizon not Apple.. Apple just does the paperwork, just the same if you went to Bestbuy or Costco.. It’s no different than going to a Verizon store and signing up for their IUP. The only benefit is you can choose whether or not you want AppleCare+ where as on Apple IUP you have no choice, it’s included in the price
