Adding extra Display?

Hello I have a iMac 21.5 Inch,Late 2013 and I wanted to know how can I add a extra display. I have a old tv that has VGA input.

I would love to use it as extra display when working in Final Cut.

Simple!

But a thunderbolt/mini display port (they are the same) to VGA adapter!

Plug the mini display end into the iMac and then connect the VGA end into the adapter!
