Adding memory help

i have a 2017 27 iMac with 16gb

Apple put in 2x8 sticks


I just ordered 2x16 to bring me to 48gb


Do I need to relocate the existing smaller sticks or just put in the 2 empty sockets

They should be alternated, so the order would be 8-16-8-16. I'm almost positive your iMac is currently in a 8-0-8-0 configuration.
