Adding Page Numbers to a PDF File?

Is there any way to add page numbers to a pdf file? I'm putting together a project with output from Mathematica, Pages, TextMate and a few apps so adding page numbers from them isn't a option. Nor is using any that costs money or made by Adobe.

Any ideas?

I don't know if this will work but you could try and use Photoshop/Elements and perform a batch run on your pages and applying a numerical watermark to each image (it works will PDF's I think).

It would probably work with some other image editors too like graphic converter.
