I have four hard drives on my Mac Pro. The drives contain the following:
Drive 1: Leopard 10.5.2
Drive 2: Blank - formatted for Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Drive 3: Leopard 10.5.2 and Windows XP
Drive 4: Used for Time Machine backup

How can I install Tiger on Drive 2?

If I start to install Tiger in the Leopard drives it tells me that it is not possible. Pressing C with the Tiger DVD inserted doesn't help.

Thank you.

The retail discs for Tiger are PPC only; there was never a retail Intel release, just the machine-specific discs. That may have something to do with it. 🙂

Besides, if drive two is formatted as Apple Partition Map (for PPC machines) you wouldn't be able to boot from it as Intel machines need bootable drives that are partitioned in GUID Partition Table.

O cheeez...Thanks Blue Velvet.

Bummer. Since Leopard 10.5.1 and .2 has been installed my wired internet speed has really slowed down when opening pages. Speed test results are the same as my PC machine.

I guess I will install Leopard 10.5.0 and go from there.

Cheers!
