Adding word documents

Just had this MacBook Air looking for the best easiest way to transfer from a pen drive.

How easier it would be to transfer files from a pen drive besides plugging the drive to the computer USB port and copying file using finder app? Is your pen drive not supported for some reason?

Yes pen drive works okay. I just wanted to make sure that was the correct procedure .
