I need 3 USB-A ports on my M2 Ultra, what is the recommended solution? Use an USB-A splitter or a Thunderbolt to USB-A adapter, can you please recommend what product works for you? Links to actual product will be appreciated.

A splitter is something only applicable to analog devices like headphones, not digital devices which are communicating with each other over established protocols. So there is no such thing as a USB splitter. You simply need a USB hub with one male connector and multiple female connectors of the type you require, like these. I'd recommend one that plugs into AC and supplies power if you're going to use with high power devices like drives. Otherwise, a simple one like the second link will be fine.

I only need an extra USB-A port, so I could go with a Thunderbolt to USB-A adapter? Will this work, if I connect it in the back of the Studio? I prefer not to use a hub.

That’s pretty much exactly what I’m using for some older USB devices. Works perfectly.

I’m going to order the cheap adapter and the official Apple USB-C to USB-A one. I was reading reviews on Amazon and some cheap adapters simply don’t work with M2 Ultra Studio.

Both work fine for my worksflow.

Has anyone of you experienced a USB Hub NOT working with a USBA To USBC adapter cable on the new M2 Studio?

I ran two of these on my old intel iMac and bought 2 USBA2USBC cables in order to continue to use them, but to no avail. The Hub won't light up and to no surprise none of the HW attached to it works when plugged to one of the Thunderbolt ports.

I tried several cables. When using normal USBA connection the hub works.

Anyone ever seen something similar and is there something I can try in order to avoid trashing two perfectly good Hubs?

the reviews of that Orico on the US amazon website indicate that an external power supply was required in several instances for both mac and PC for the hub lights to fire up.

we've been using a OWC thunderbolt hub with external power supply to provide a large variety of ports with no issues.

If you have enough USB C ports and you need another USB A port, these are cheap and work great.
