If I create a new contact on my computer in Address Book, when the contact is synced to my iPad (via iCloud) the entry adds United States to the country field, even though this field was left blank when I originally created the entry. Any idea how to prevent this odd and annoying behavior?

    Thanks,
    Abe Z.

Not 100% certain, but I believe it has something to do with Preferences in Address Book.app on your mac. Under General, you have to tell the Address Book what default country address you want to use. Therefore, when you fill out an address, it gives you standard US address fields and put the United States as the country by default. This information then gets fed to your iPad via iCloud.

Ah, this makes sense. When I look at the preferences I assumed that it's asking what format I want addresses to be displayed in. But it looks like it is also assuming that if the Country field is left blank that it should add US. Pretty dumb if you ask me. But oh well.

    Thanks,
