Address Book to overwrite Iphone Contacts Help!

I just went through my address book and deleted the contacts and now it wants to put them back on the iphone. How to i set it to overwrite??

I have looked and looked with no success please help!!

I am overrun by hundreds of old contacts!!

Are you trying to keep contacts on the Mac, but not on the iPhone?

The only way to do that, far as I know, is to use groups in Address Book, and only sync the groups you want to appear on the iPhone.

That'll keep them on the Mac, but not move them to the iPhone.
